Mazzato was founded by Mauro Appezzato,
an advertising and marketing veteran with
over 30 years of experience.
He started his professional career on New York's famed Madison Avenue, working for such notable agencies as Grey Advertising, Young and Rubicam, and Wells, Rich, Greene. His impressive client roster includes Red Lobster, Timex, Color Tile, Gordon's Gin, Pabst Beer and Midas Mufflers.
In 1990, Mr. Appezzato shifted his focus to the financial services sector as President of Advertising and Marketing for a regional lender named The Money Store. There he successfully transitioned the company to a new advertising level by introducing Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame pitcher Jim Palmer to replace long time spokesperson, Yankee shortstop, Phil Rizzuto. He made The Money Store into a national household name using a combination of branding and direct response marketing that drove it to become the country’s leading sub-prime lender.
In 1997 he joined FIRSTPLUS Financial, a promising but unknown newcomer in the industry. Over an 18 month period Mr. Appezzato successfully introduced the FIRSTPLUS brand to homeowners nationwide using Miami Dolphins' quarterback, Dan Marino, through an intensive and highly targeted advertising effort incorporating television, newspaper, radio, direct mail, yellow pages, internet and corporate sponsorships. In less than two years, FIRSTPLUS became the leading high loan-to-value lender, with over a 50% market share and the second most recognized name in the industry behind The Money Store.
In 1999 Mr. Appezato opened his own Advertising Agency to work with direct to consumer lenders to improve their marketing efforts and increase their efficiencies using highly evolved mass marketing strategies. His clients included Residential Money Centers, a GMAC company and privately held America’s Lending Partners, which Mr. Appezzato also founded and served as its CEO and President. He led America's Lending Partners to become the largest, privately held lead aggregator serving over 150 lenders.
Considered an expert in the field of financial services advertising and marketing, Mr. Appezzato frequently consults with national lending institutions, has spoken at mortgage conferences, and quoted in industry trade publications.
